Uganda has the sixth highest number of deaths annually from malaria in Africa and the highest reported malaria transmission rates in the world. The cost of malaria treatment is a high and heavy burden for families because it consumes the largest proportion of the family's income. With the purchase of a mosquito net, the child continues to be healthy and has a lesser chance of contracting malaria.
